Student Assistant in Computer Vision and Deep Learning (m/f/d)

The Cooperative Autonomous Systems Research Group at the AIFB Institute is at the forefront of research and innovation in connected and autonomous systems. Our mission is to leverage state-of-the-art technologies to enhance safety, autonomy, and intelligence in real-world robotic and mobility applications.

We are seeking highly motivated Student Assistants (m/f/d) for initial applications to support our ongoing research activities in robotic vision and autonomous perception. This open position is intended for students interested in exploring research topics such as 3D and 4D scene reconstruction, dynamic scene understanding, occupancy prediction and forecasting, collaborative perception, and world models for multi-robot systems and connected and autonomous vehicles.

The exact topic and tasks will be defined based on the student’s background, interests, and ongoing research needs within the group. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge research projects and to collaborate closely with researchers in an international and interdisciplinary environment.

Your Profile:
  • Solid background in computer vision and machine learning
  • Knowledge of 3D vision, scene reconstruction, robotics perception is a plus
  • Experience with common libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, OpenCV, ROS2, or similar tools is a plus
  • Programming skills in Python and/or C++
  • Structured, independent, and reliable working style
  • Motivation to work on research-oriented topics and contribute to publication
